Meet the Photographer
Hi, I’m Kayla.
We are all museums of art
just waiting to be captured.
For everyone who’s walked through a door
and felt like they don’t belong.
For the hippies, the barefoot, the unorthodox.
For the women who don’t yet realize
they are the most powerful person in the room.
For the underdogs, the underestimated, the hopeless romantics.
My experience began in the editorial industry in Miami in 2013 where I learned fashion, lighting, and posing. I bought my first camera in 2019 where I captured landscape photography across North America, South America, and Europe. It wasn’t until I began photographing couples, weddings and families that I became passionate about photography.
I have a lifetime of being a flower child, an observer, a free spirit, and a humanitarian. I have a degree in social sciences and interpersonal relationships. I photograph the joy of human connections and transform their experiences into art because I am thoroughly a lover of humans. Some of my most important captures include special yet delicate pieces of life, such as: children, elderly, animals, plants and above all - love. It is genuinely important and brings me joy to photograph human connection and our connections to the world around us.
A Film Oriented Photographer
For the timeless nostalgic lovers
I am blessed with my photography journey. I still can't believe I get to capture the most sacred moments. I am eternally grateful people have trusted me with these precious memories. As a photographer that began with Film and Super 8, I understand that sometimes moments can only be captured once. From working with 35mm film and Super 8 video, I have become extremely detail oriented to ensure the large and small moments are captured with care and clarity.
I began my professional career as a photographer by capturing elopements and weddings with film cameras from the 60’s and 70’s. I will always have a love for fashion and nature but nothing brings me to tears faster than human connection. I can be seen crying over the exchanging of vows, and with tissues editing family or maternity portraits.
